Our Pledge Against Over-Tourism
"Over -Tourism"
Once-peaceful destinations are now facing the pressures of over-tourism—crowded streets, strained infrastructure, and a loss of the charm that made them special. When places become “overloved,” the environment suffers, local life is disrupted, and the experience loses its magic for everyone. The question is: how can we supports and protects these places, rather than adding to the problem?
How can we help?
At Tourism Scouts, we believe that travel should leave a place better than we found it. Over-tourism threatens the very landscapes, cultures, and communities that inspire us to explore. That’s why we are committed to traveling—and helping our guests travel—responsibly.
Here are some efforts we try everytime to put in:
1. Diversify Destinations
Alongside famous ones, we disover and create alternative routes that showcase hidden gems, dispersing visitor traffic.
2. Time It Right
We encourage off-season or shoulder-season travel.
Try to give added-value experiences for trips outside peak months.
3. Work with Local Communities
We always partner with local homestays, guides, and artisans to ensure tourism benefits stay within the community.
Support local capacity-building so communities can better manage visitor numbers.
4. We Educate Our Travelers before we sell them.
We provide pre-trip briefings on responsible tourism practices.
Share why certain rules—like waste management or staying on marked trails—are important.
5. Limit Group Sizes
We keep groups small to minimize strain on infrastructure and preserve the traveler’s experience.
6. Support Conservation & Cultural Preservation
We allocate part of our tour proceeds to local conservation.
Including activities that actively contribute—such as tree planting, trek clean-ups, or school restoration visits.
7. Lead by Example
Implement eco-friendly practices in operations—paperless itineraries, reduced plastic use, carbon offsetting.
